Manchester United have confirmed Michael Carrick as their permanent head coach after an impressive turnaround in fortunes during his interim spell at Old Trafford
According to Reuters, Carrick’s composed leadership style helped stabilise United following the January dismissal of Ruben Amorim. Under the former Midfielder, United won 11 of 16 league matches, secured Champions League qualification, and climbed to third in the Premier League standings.
Reuters described the appointment as the reward for a “calm revolution” that restored belief, discipline, and confidence within the squad after a turbulent period earlier in the season.
His tactical adjustments and man-management have also revived several players, including Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo. Mainoo’s resurgence under Carrick reportedly earned him a place in England’s World Cup squad.
The former United midfielder, who won multiple trophies during his playing career at the club, has now signed a deal running until 2028.
