Aston Villa have completed the signing of Alejandro Garnacho on a season-long loan from Premier League rivals Chelsea, bolstering Unai Emery’s squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

The Argentina winger becomes Villa’s fourth arrival of the summer transfer window after the signings of Johan Manzambi, Joao Gomes and Modou Keba Cisse as the Europa League champions continue to strengthen their squad.

Villa manager Unai Emery welcomed the 22-year-old’s arrival, praising both his talent and commitment to the club’s project.

“We are delighted with Alejandro. He is so talented, young and he showed us his wish to help our project. We are really happy,” Emery said.

Garnacho’s move comes after reports that new Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso informed the winger earlier this month that he could not guarantee him regular first-team football at Stamford Bridge.

The forward departs Chelsea after an underwhelming debut season following his transfer from Manchester United. He scored eight goals in 43 appearances across all competitions during the 2025/26 campaign.

Chelsea have also been active in the transfer market, completing the club-record £117 million signing of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa earlier this week.
