Big Brother Naija Season 11 officially kicked off on Sunday night with the unveiling of 24housemates who will compete over the next 72 days for the franchise’s biggest-ever prize package worth ₦160 million.
Hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, this year’s edition is themed “Everything Is For The Taking”, also known as “Show Ya Sef”, and features a redesigned house, fresh twists and contestants from diverse professional backgrounds.
The eventual winner will receive ₦100 million in cash and an SUV, making it the largest grand prize in the history of the reality television show.
The housemates include entrepreneurs, lawyers, creatives, engineers, broadcasters, students and business owners, all hoping to emerge victorious at the end of the competition.
Among the first contestants introduced were Tram, a 24-year-old streamer from Lagos, and Temi Nkem, a 21-year-old model raised in London. Abi, a 25-year-old chef and model from Osun State, drew early attention after revealing she is married, while Martins, a visual storyteller from Kogi State, disclosed he is in a relationship.
The full lineup also includes Chimsom Chuka, Keivo, Mercedes, Kamsi, Sultex, Aikou, Flora, Bells, Gerard, Oyin, Sheba, Araga, Ricky, Nomy, Barry, Neche, Yusuf, Goddessa, Bluethopia and Cassi.
Several contestants shared their strategies ahead of the competition, with some planning to build alliances or pursue relationships, while others insisted they would focus solely on winning the grand prize.
This season also introduces a newly redesigned BBNaija house featuring an “upside-down” concept with bold colours and luxury interiors to reflect the unpredictable nature of the show.
According to MultiChoice, the production employs more than 1,000 Nigerians, including engineers, carpenters, electricians, decorators, camera operators, technical crews and caterers. The house is equipped with 52 robotic PTZ cameras, seven handheld cameras, 59 microphones, 36 antenna blades and 19 speakers to ensure uninterrupted live coverage.
Executive Head of Content and Channels for West Africa, Atinuke Babatunde, said Season 11 builds on the show’s legacy with higher stakes, new twists and a fresh mix of personalities expected to entertain audiences until the finale.
The launch generated widespread reactions on social media as viewers shared their first impressions and predicted early favourites.
