Anthony Adeniyi (Niyi) Adeosun, the husband of former Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun, has died at the age of 62.
According to a statement issued by the Adeosun family and made available on Thursday, Anthony died in Lagos on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.
The announcement, signed by Rev. C. A. Adeosun on behalf of the family, described the late businessman as a devoted Christian whose life was marked by integrity, generosity and unwavering faith.
The family said Anthony was known for his commitment to God, his family and his community, adding that he lived a life of hard work and service.
“It is with profound sorrow, yet in total submission to the will of Almighty God, that the Adeosun family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father and brother, Mr Anthony Adeniyi (Niyi) Adeosun,” the statement read in part.
The family said it was drawing strength from its Christian faith during the period of mourning and noted that details of the funeral and burial arrangements would be announced later.
Anthony Adeosun is survived by his wife, former Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun, his children, and his siblings, including Kuramo Capital founder Adewale Adeosun.
The family also expressed appreciation to those who had sent prayers, condolences and messages of support, praying for the repose of his soul.
