United States President, Donald Trump has announced the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife.

Trump disclosed this in a post via his Truth Social media account on Saturday.

“The United States of America has successfully carried out a large-scale strike against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolas Maduro, who has been, along with his wife, captured and flown out of the country.

“This operation was done in conjunction with U.S. Law Enforcement. Details to follow. There will be a News Conference today at 11 A.M., at Mar-a-Lago. Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

This is coming few months after the United States government doubled the reward for information leading to the arrest of Maduro to $50 million, citing his alleged role in international drug trafficking.

The United States had, in 2020, during Trump’s first administration, indicted Maduro and several senior Venezuelan officials.
