The Bauchi State Hisbah Command has arrested seven men in Katagum Local Government Area over allegations of wife-swapping among members of a group identified as “Wuddadu.”

According to TheCable Lifestyle, the suspects allegedly exchanged their wives for sexual relationships, claiming the practice was inspired by a dream experienced by one of the members.

The zonal commander, Ridwan Khairan, described the act as contrary to Islamic teachings and moral values. He said the practice reportedly continued secretly in Azare town for nearly two years before it came to light after one of the women involved withdrew from the group and exposed the activities.

Premium Times reported that the suspects allegedly admitted to the arrangement during questioning by Hisbah officials. Authorities said the women involved claimed they participated at the instruction of their husbands.

The Hisbah command said investigations are ongoing and further legal or corrective actions may follow.
