A 10-year-old boy allegedly abused by his guardian is receiving medical care after being visited in hospital by the wife of the Anambra State Governor, Nonye Soludo.
Mrs Soludo, accompanied by the state Commissioner for Health, Afam Obidike, made the visit after directing the Ministry of Health to ensure the child received full medical attention. She said the purpose was to assess his condition and offer support during recovery.
She noted that medical updates indicated the boy’s condition had stabilised and that he was responding positively to treatment, though he still requires continued care, proper nutrition and emotional support.
Mrs Soludo described the case as a reminder of the need for stronger child protection measures, urging residents to report suspected abuse promptly. She encouraged the use of emergency lines 112 and 5111 to alert authorities when vulnerable children are at risk.
The governor’s wife also pledged continued monitoring of the boy’s recovery and support for his rehabilitation, while commending medical staff and concerned citizens for their response.
