The Ogun State Government has graduated 1,000 members of the Ogun State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Amotekun, to strengthen security across communities and enhance grassroots policing.

The operatives completed their training and passed out during a ceremony held at the International Stadium in Sagamu on Monday.

Representing Governor Dapo Abiodun, the state’s Head of Service, Sala Olanrewaju, described the graduation as a significant step in the government’s drive to keep Ogun among the safest states for residents, businesses and investors.

He said security remains the foundation of sustainable development, noting that Amotekun has continued to complement conventional security agencies by protecting lives and property while boosting community policing and public confidence.

Olanrewaju urged the newly graduated Batch F operatives to remain vigilant against emerging security threats, embrace intelligence gathering and work closely with other security agencies, traditional rulers, community leaders and youth groups to improve grassroots security.

He also charged the officers to carry out their duties with discipline, integrity, fairness and respect for the rule of law, stressing that they must build trust within the communities they serve.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the agency through continuous training, improved welfare and the provision of modern equipment to enhance operational effectiveness.

He also called on residents to support security agencies by providing timely and credible information to help prevent crime and maintain peace.

Speaking at the event, Amotekun Corps Commander Alade Adedigba said the officers had undergone rigorous training designed to prepare them for effective service. He commended the Ogun State Government for its commitment to building a disciplined and service-oriented corps to improve security, particularly at the grassroots.
