Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Nigerians to embrace peaceful coexistence and support vulnerable members of society as Muslims prepare to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir 2026.
In a message released on Tuesday, Senator Tinubu said the country’s strength lies in unity, mutual respect and a shared commitment to love and understanding.
According to a report by The Nation, the First Lady urged citizens to live harmoniously and work together towards building a peaceful and prosperous nation.
“As we celebrate, I encourage all Nigerians to embrace peaceful coexistence and to live in harmony with one another. Our strength as a nation lies in our unity, mutual respect, and shared commitment to building a society where love and understanding prevail,” she said.
She also encouraged Nigerians to extend kindness to vulnerable and less privileged people during the festive period, noting that acts of generosity could renew hope for many families.
“Let us also remember the essence of this day by extending a helping hand to our neighbours, especially the vulnerable and less privileged ones among us,” she added.
The First Lady described Eid-el-Kabir as a season of reflection on sacrifice, obedience, faith and compassion. She said the celebration goes beyond festivities and serves as a reminder of selflessness and devotion to God.
Senator Tinubu further urged Nigerians to continue praying for sustained peace, stability and prosperity in the country while wishing Muslims in Nigeria and across the world a peaceful and joyous Eid celebration.
