The First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has donated vehicles to women leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in five states governed by opposition parties.

According to TheCable, the announcement was made during the inauguration of the Tinubu Torchbearers (TTB) at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja on Wednesday.

The beneficiaries are APC women leaders in Abia, Anambra, Bauchi, Osun and Oyo states. Tinubu said the vehicles would be delivered before the end of the week and would belong personally to the recipients rather than the party.

Addressing the women leaders, the First Lady said the vehicles should be registered in their names and used to support party activities and community service.

“To all our women leaders in states where we do not have APC governors but have committed party members, your vehicles will be ready before the end of the week,” she said.

She also appealed to APC governors across the country to provide vehicles and other forms of support to women leaders in their respective states.

Tinubu said women remain central to the APC’s vision of inclusive governance, highlighting their role in grassroots mobilisation and party development. She added that the ruling party had demonstrated that politics could be practised without bitterness.

“I urge our governors to buy vehicles for their women leaders. We are not playing politics like before. We are politicians, and people should see the value in us,” she said.

The First Lady further pointed to the conduct of the party’s recent primaries as evidence of the APC’s commitment to internal democracy and peaceful conflict resolution.

She urged members of the Tinubu Torchbearers to promote President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and communicate government policies responsibly ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Meanwhile, Mary Alile-Idele, APC National Women Leader, called on women nationwide to intensify grassroots mobilisation in support of the administration’s programmes.

Alile-Idele said the Tinubu Torchbearers had established structures across all 774 local government areas in Nigeria to promote government initiatives and encourage citizen participation.

She also praised the administration’s reforms and the First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative, noting that the programmes have supported women, youths, persons living with disabilities and other vulnerable groups through empowerment and social intervention schemes.
