Senator representing Osun East Senatorial District, Francis Fadahunsi, has arrived at the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo for questioning over alleged inciting comments ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

Fadahunsi arrived at about 2:35pm on Wednesday, accompanied by the Commissioner of Police in charge of election and security, Samuel Erale, according to Channels Television, as reported by The PUNCH.

His invitation followed the circulation of a campaign video from an All Progressives Congress rally in Ilesa. In the video, the senator was allegedly heard speaking in Yoruba in remarks interpreted as urging his supporters to “kill” members of the rival Accord Party.

The Osun State Police Command had on Tuesday directed Fadahunsi to report to the State Criminal Investigation Department for questioning over the video.

The police described the alleged remarks as threatening and inciting, saying they could heighten tension ahead of the governorship election scheduled for Saturday.

The development comes as political activities intensify across Osun State, with parties and their supporters campaigning ahead of the poll.

Fadahunsi’s questioning is part of heightened security measures surrounding the election, amid concerns over inflammatory statements and possible political violence.
