Barcelona have completed the signing of Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal on a deal running until 2029.
The Catalan club confirmed the transfer on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, with Spanish media reporting that Barcelona paid around €10 million ($11.5 million) for the 29-year-old striker.
Jesus arrives at Barcelona after the Spanish champions were unable to secure Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid, who reportedly refused to negotiate with their domestic rivals.
The Brazilian is expected to strengthen Barcelona’s attacking options following the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres earlier this summer.
Jesus joined Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022 and has been part of the Gunners’ squad across several seasons. His move to Barcelona now brings his Premier League spell to an end.
Barcelona had pursued Alvarez throughout the summer as their preferred attacking target, but Atletico’s unwillingness to negotiate forced the club to turn to Jesus.
