Nigerian-British businessman and social media influencer Igho Ubiribo underwent five penile filler procedures at a Bangkok clinic before his death, according to Thai health authorities.
The 43-year-old, also known as “Tiny”, “Denisi” and “Ego”, died in March after undergoing his fifth procedure while holidaying in Thailand with his wife.
The Department of Health Service Support under Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health disclosed the findings on Tuesday after officials inspected the clinic on September 7.
According to the clinic, Ubiribo had been a regular patient since 2024 and received four penis enlargement injections between 2024 and 2025. His fifth procedure took place on March 5, 2026, the day before his death.
The final treatment involved the injection of 40cc of filler into his penis. Authorities said the doctor had recommended that the procedure be split into two sessions, but Ubiribo preferred to have it completed in one session.
The clinic said it provided post-operative instructions and follow-up care, while Ubiribo signed consent forms before each procedure.
On March 5, Ubiribo reportedly received the filler and later went for a massage with his wife. He subsequently complained of chest pain and lost consciousness.
He was taken to Sukhumvit Hospital, where doctors suspected a pulmonary embolism and planned a CT scan. However, he lost consciousness and had no pulse before the scan could be completed.
Medical staff performed CPR for more than 100 minutes but were unable to revive him. He died in the early hours of March 6.
A postmortem examination later found material in his lungs consistent with the hyaluronic acid used in the penile filler procedure.
A UK coroner had previously linked his death to the cosmetic treatment, with evidence presented at an inquest indicating that the procedure caused a fatal pulmonary embolism.
Following Ubiribo’s death, Thailand’s Minister of Public Health, Pattana Promphat, ordered an investigation by the Department of Health Service Support and the Food and Drug Administration.
The DHSS said its officials inspected the clinic on September 7 to examine its operations and gather evidence.
DHSS Director-General Phuwadej Surakhot said the investigation would continue before the professional-practice aspects of the case were referred to Thailand’s Medical Council.
