Nigeria had entered the final group game with only one point after a 2-0 defeat to Spain and a goalless draw against China.
The Falconets will now face England in the round of 16 as they continue their campaign at the tournament.
Spain finished top of Group F with nine points and had already secured qualification for the last 16.
