Singer Cynthia Morgan has voiced support for music star Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, amid his ongoing public dispute with his elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye, saying many artistes silently endure emotional struggles before speaking out.

In an Instagram post on Friday, Morgan responded to claims that Peter’s emotions were “destructive”, saying she was speaking from personal experience.

She said many artistes are conditioned to prioritise their careers above everything else, often suppressing emotions caused by love, grief, abuse and professional pressure.

“As an artiste, most of us are conditioned to always put our craft over anything. Love, grief, abuse, pressure etc. So when you see an artiste that you think has become destructive, just know they’ve maxed out and can no longer pretend, and until they vent or go to therapy, they will never be normal,” she wrote.

Morgan added that entertainers make enormous personal sacrifices to build successful careers, noting that artistes from an earlier era, particularly those associated with the P-Square brand, faced greater pressure to maintain a mysterious public image.

She said many fans believed they knew the personalities behind the music, when in reality much of their private struggles remained hidden.

In the caption accompanying her post, Morgan offered words of encouragement to Peter, writing: “The Lord is close to the broken-hearted #peterpsquare. I wish you peace and salvation.”

Her comments come as the long-running rift between Peter Okoye and Jude Okoye has resurfaced publicly, with both brothers exchanging allegations over the management of P-Square’s affairs and longstanding family issues.
