Christian Eriksen collapses during Denmark vs Ukraine friendly match in Odense, with medical staff rushing to the pitch before the game was abandoned, Channels Television reports.
The 34-year-old midfielder, who plays for Wolfsburg and has a pacemaker fitted after his cardiac arrest at Euro 2020 in 2021, fell in the 64th minute while Denmark were leading 2-1.
The Danish Football Association confirmed he was conscious and responding after receiving immediate treatment on the pitch.
Players from both sides formed a protective circle around Eriksen as medical teams attended to him before he was taken by ambulance to hospital in Odense for further checks.
Denmark captain Pierre Emile Hojbjerg said the incident happened suddenly during routine play, adding that the response from players and staff was immediate and orderly.
Team doctor Morten Boesen said the pacemaker appeared to function as intended and that Eriksen briefly lost consciousness before regaining it quickly.
The match referee later called off the game due to the seriousness of the situation.
Eriksen previously returned to professional football after his Euro 2020 collapse, later playing for Brentford, Manchester United and Wolfsburg, and continuing his international career with Denmark.
