An Enugu Air aircraft skidded off the runway after landing at Benin Airport on Thursday, prompting an emergency response but leaving all passengers and crew unharmed.
According to Channels Television, the airline confirmed that everyone on board was safely evacuated and that no injuries or fatalities were recorded.
In a statement, Enugu Air said the aircraft had been secured and the appropriate aviation authorities notified in line with standard procedures.
“The aircraft has been secured and the relevant aviation authorities have been notified in line with established procedures. An assessment of the aircraft and the circumstances surrounding the occurrence is currently underway,” the airline said.
The runway excursion temporarily disrupted flight operations at Benin Airport as emergency responders secured the aircraft and aviation officials began assessing the incident.
Enugu Air warned that the occurrence could lead to temporary changes to some flight schedules. It said affected passengers would be contacted directly and provided with the necessary assistance.
The airline reaffirmed that the safety of its passengers, crew and operations remains its highest priority and said it is cooperating fully with aviation authorities investigating the incident.
Enugu Air also thanked passengers for their understanding and said further updates would be communicated through its official channels.
