The remains of veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, have been laid to rest in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State.
Ogogo was buried on Monday, August 24, 2026, with family members, friends, colleagues, and residents gathering to pay their final respects to the celebrated Yoruba film icon.
The funeral ceremony was attended by several Nollywood veterans, including Yinka Quadri, Jide Kosoko, Fausat Balogun, Toyosi Adesanya, and Femi Adebayo, who mourned the loss of their longtime colleague and friend.
The actor’s burial came a day after his death was announced. Ogogo reportedly passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 66, after battling stage-four cancer.
Tributes have continued to pour in for the actor, who was widely recognised for his contributions to Yoruba Nollywood and his decades-long career on screen.
