A 28-year-old pregnant woman has been arrested by troops of Operation Hadin Kai for allegedly transporting items suspected to be meant for Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters in Borno State.

According to TheCable, which cited counter-insurgency publication Zagazola Makama, the suspect, identified as Falmata Adamu, was apprehended on July 13 during a routine checkpoint operation along the Mandaragirau-Biu road.

Security sources said troops discovered several items concealed in her clothing during a search. The recovered materials reportedly included 17 torchlights and 19 Tiger batteries, which investigators suspect were being transported to a terrorist enclave.

The suspect has been taken into custody while security agencies conduct further investigations to determine the intended recipients of the items and establish any possible links to terrorist logistics networks.

The report said the arrest forms part of Operation Hadin Kai’s ongoing efforts to disrupt supply chains supporting Boko Haram and ISWAP operations in Nigeria’s North-East.

Despite the latest arrest, security sources told Zagazola Makama that the overall security situation across the theatre remains relatively calm. However, troops have maintained heightened operational readiness due to the unpredictable nature of the insurgency.
