Akume secures Tinubu’s Secretary to Govt appointment

Former Benue State Governor, Senator George Akume, has been appointed as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, by President Bola Tinubu. 

Akume was the outgoing Minister of Special Duties, under former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The President also named Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the House of Representatives, as Chief of Staff, and Senator Ibrahim Hadejia, a former Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, as Deputy Chief of Staff.

The appointment was announced in a statement published by Abiodun Oladunjoye, Director of Information at the State House in Abuja.

According to the statement, the President made the announcement at a meeting with the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) at the Presidential Villa’s Council Chamber in Abuja.

Okundaye’s achievement comes a year after Temilola Blossom Arise, then an 18-year-old economics student at University of Ilorin, passed all five papers in the professional stage examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria to qualify as a chartered accountant.
