Vice President Kashim Shettima has submitted the nomination and expression of interest forms of President Bola Tinubu to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

According to a report by Punch Newspapers, Shettima disclosed the development in a statement shared on his X handle on Thursday, describing the nomination form as “priceless.”

The Vice President said the submission formally signalled Tinubu’s intention to seek the APC ticket for a second term in office.

Speaking at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre after presenting the forms, Shettima urged party stakeholders, governors, National Assembly members and APC officials to unite behind the President’s re-election ambition.

“We are here, first, as Nigerians, and secondly as members of the All Progressives Congress, to submit this very priceless nomination form of our dear President and leader, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as he seeks to lead us for another four-year term,” Shettima said.

He added that Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda had shown the administration’s capacity to tackle Nigeria’s economic and social challenges, insisting the achievements recorded so far should serve as a rallying point for supporters.

The move marks one of the earliest major steps in preparations for the 2027 presidential election within the ruling party.

Earlier, the member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, James Faleke, obtained the APC Expression of Interest and Nomination forms on behalf of the President in Abuja.

Faleke, who is also founder of the Tinubu Support Groups, collected the forms after the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, declared the process open.

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu and Minister of Works David Umahi also signed the forms afterward.

The procurement of the forms, reportedly valued at N100 million, officially kick-started Tinubu’s re-election campaign preparations ahead of the 2027 poll.
