Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has submitted his nomination form for the governorship primaries of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 election, declaring his intention to seek a second term in office.
According to a report by Channels Television, Eno appealed to party members and supporters to back his re-election bid, saying more time was needed to complete ongoing projects across the state.
The governor spoke with Government House correspondents at the Victor Attah International Airport after returning from Abuja, where he formally submitted the nomination form.
Eno said his administration had achieved several developmental milestones under the ARISE Agenda but noted that many projects would not be fully completed before the end of his current tenure.
“We will continue to pray, trust in God, and remain committed to serving our people. But you can see clearly that there is still so much work on ground. Many of the projects we have started will not be fully completed within this term,” he said.
“That is why we are asking for another mandate to drive home these initiatives and consolidate on the progress already made for the benefit of our people.”
The governor maintained that continuity would help ensure projects initiated under his administration are completed according to plan.
He also thanked Akwa Ibom residents for their support over the past three years and expressed confidence that the backing would continue through the remainder of his first term and into a second tenure if re-elected.
The submission of the form marks another key development in preparations for the 2027 governorship election in Akwa Ibom State.
