Interior Ministry: Group commends Tunji-Ojo’s transformational leadership

The Concerned Northern Forum (CNF), a prominent advocacy group championing educational, infrastructural, and socio-economic development in Northern Nigeria, has lauded Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo’s exemplary administrative prowess and commitment to fulfilling the Interior Ministry’s mandate.

In a statement signed by the group’s Secretary, Amodu Philip, known for his dedication to the progress, unity, and growth of Northern Nigeria and the nation as a whole, has showered commendations on Tunde-Ojo (BTO) for his resolute efforts in advancing the cause of Nigeria through transformative reforms within the Interior Ministry.

In its statement, the CNF highlighted BTO’s remarkable strides and fervour in revolutionising the Interior Ministry, setting new standards and displaying unparalleled preparedness for the tasks at hand.

Continuously surpassing expectations, BTO’s dedication and commitment have reshaped the perception of the office’s responsibilities beyond the mere declaration of public holidays, a stereotypical association in the past.

The CNF particularly hailed the overhaul instigated by BTO in the application and issuance process of international passports, citing it as a testament to Nigeria’s potential for a resurgence under effective leadership.

Moreover, the forum applauded BTO’s proactive approach to addressing the longstanding issue of prison congestion across the country.

Emphasising the urgent need for prison reform and the transformation of these facilities into correctional centres, the CNF underscored BTO’s initiatives towards decongesting prisons as a significant step in the right direction. Notably, these efforts are being executed at zero cost to the government.

Expressing unwavering confidence in the present administration’s objectives and leadership under President Bola Ahmed, the CNF expressed optimism for the future, believing that the ongoing reforms within the Interior Ministry will pave the way for a brighter tomorrow.

According to Amodu Philip, Secretary of the CNF, “We commend Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo for his exceptional dedication and transformative reforms within the Interior Ministry. Abuja building collapse, five dead, 10 rescued as search continues

A three-storey building under construction has collapsed in the Durumi 3 area near Abuja, leaving at least five people dead and 10 rescued alive, according to Punch Newspaper.   The incident happened on Saturday morning near Gudu Market, with emergency workers continuing efforts to reach people believed to still be trapped under the rubble. The report was first published by Punch, citing officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration.   According to the FCTA, rescue teams recovered five bodies from the collapsed structure, while 10 survivors were pulled out alive. Search operations remained ongoing as responders combed through debris at the construction site in the Gudu district.   The statement was issued by Lere Olayinka, spokesperson to Nyesom Wike, who confirmed the scale of the incident and said additional victims may still be under the wreckage.   The FCT Mandate Secretary of Health Services and Environment Secretariat, Adedolapo Fasawe, visited the scene and said Wike had directed that all injured victims receive free medical treatment. Emergency teams including the Federal Fire Service, security agencies, health workers and local volunteers were seen at the site as residents gathered anxiously nearby.   Authorities have yet to confirm the cause of the collapse, while rescue operations continue.
