The Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, has declared that the recent arrests of Omoyele Sowore, Aloy Ejimakor, Nnamdi Kanu’s younger brother, Emmanuel Kanu depicted Nigeria verging on Anarchy and political instability.

The Youth organisation said the prevailing atmosphere of intimidation, harassment, and tribal victimization surrounding the detained leader of indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s case with the federal government has underscored a clear collapse of the Nigerian under the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

The pan-Igbo Youth group in a strongly-worded warning issued on Friday, signed by its National President, Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, decried the executive recklessness of Bola Tinubu’s Administration, asserting that Nigeria is drifting towards anarchy, orchestrated in a desperate attempt to muzzle voices of justice, opposition, and reason ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to the Youth council, The current state of Nigeria under president Bola Tinubu’s leadership is precarious, similar to a ship on the verge of capsizing after being struck by a tornado.

It stated that it’s shocking that last Tuesday’s morning president Tinubu through his anti-human rights Nigerian police, ordered the arrest of activist Omoyele Sowore, the former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress ,AAC,and the convener of the first phase of #FreeNnamdiKanu protest, at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

“It is noteworthy that on 20th October, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, acting through the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, ordered the arrest of peaceful protesters, including Nnamdi Kanu lawyer Bar Aloy Ejimakor, Prince Emma Kanu, Barrister Kingdom Nnamdi Okere, and others, during the peaceful FreeNnamdiKanu protest, and they were subsequently arraigned at Kuje Magistrate Court and remanded in custody at Kuje Prison.

“President Bola Tinubu must take immediate action to order the release of Sowore, Aloy Ejimakor, Prince Emma Kanu, Barrister Kingdom Okere, and others, and commence a process of national healing and true reconciliation to prevent the recurrence of the Madagascar and Napel crises in Nigeria.

“In light of the growing international demand for Nnamdi Kanu’s freedom, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should consider the counsel of esteemed Nigerian leaders, pursuing a political solution, dropping all charges, and effecting his unconditional release, Comrade Igboayaka advised.

“Nnamdi Kanu’s case highlights the issue of selective justice against the lgbo people, potentially undermining Nigeria’s stability due to Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s actions, Igboayaka,” concluded.

Nigeria moves to deploy AI, anti-drone systems for military operations

Nigeria has announced plans to deploy artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced anti-drone systems as part of a major overhaul of its military operations, according to TheCable.   The Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, disclosed the development while leading a high-level delegation to Monaco to finalise discussions on the Hybrid Intelligence Shield (HIS) project.   The initiative is designed to strengthen border security, protect urban centres and improve Nigeria’s response to evolving security threats, including insurgency, banditry, piracy and oil theft.   Under the proposed system, AI-powered surveillance technology will be deployed to rapidly detect and analyse threats using smart algorithms, while anti-drone technology will be used to intercept and neutralise unmanned aerial systems that may pose security risks.   The plan also includes the establishment of national and regional command-and-control centres to enhance real-time coordination and operational response across security agencies.   Musa said the project will prioritise technology transfer and local capacity development through the creation of a military “Centre of Excellence” in Nigeria.   The Defence Ministry is also expected to work with international partners, including Marss UK Ltd, while building indigenous capacity to address internal security challenges.   Nigeria continues to face multiple security threats across different regions, prompting growing calls from security experts for the adoption of advanced technologies such as AI surveillance systems, drones and integrated intelligence platforms to support military operations, TheCable reports.
