Nigerian rapper and singer Ice Prince has revealed plans to step away from actively pursuing music when he turns 40, saying he wants to focus on agriculture and farming instead.

The Jos-born artiste made the disclosure during an appearance on TVC’s Wake Up Nigeria, according to a report by Channels Television.

Ice Prince, who is currently 37, said he intends to return to university to study agriculture as part of his long-term ambitions outside entertainment.

“So in three years, I’m going to be 40 years old. I’m 37 now, and I have other goals for when I’m 40,” he said.

The rapper added that he no longer sees frequent music or album releases as a priority once he reaches that age.

“I intend to go to university, study a course. I intend to go to the farm; I intend to be a farmer at that age,” he said.

The announcement comes weeks after the release of his fifth studio album, Testimony of Grace, which dropped on May 1, 2026. The 13-track project blends rap and Afrobeats and features guest appearances from artistes including Niniola, Skiibii and Sinzu.

Speaking on his relationship with former label Chocolate City, Ice Prince said he remains on good terms with the label and fellow artistes such as Jesse Jagz, M.I Abaga and Young L.

He said he was proud to have left the label without any public disputes, describing the relationship as family.

The rapper also opened up about his recent weight loss journey, revealing that producer and longtime collaborator Chopstix encouraged him to improve his appearance by losing weight and growing a beard.

Ice Prince said the advice pushed him into making stricter lifestyle and behavioural changes.
